This chapter invites cultural and identity center staff to engage in support of multiracial students, a growing college student population. The author begins with her experience as a multiracial student in higher education as well as a professional in cultural centers who has also served as an advisor for multiracial student organizations. The unique challenges of multiracial students and student organizations are explored through narrative and review of literature. Using the frameworks of Critical Multiracial Theory, interconnectivity, and liminality, the author concludes with numerous recommendations for identity and cultural center staff so that the heart work can be expansive, inclusive, and affirming of multiracial students’ lived experience.
