Abstract
Increasing concern has been expressed about the mental health of students in higher education, particularly as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide. By comparison, there has been less interest in the mental health of those working in higher education, whether in academic (i.e. teaching and/or research) or non-academic/professional services (i.e. management and support staff) roles. Yet, this is of critical importance for a well-functioning institutional culture and for the maintenance and development of the workforce. This chapter reviews the research that has been published and makes recommendations for the future.
