First page of Balancing Bytes and Behaviour: The Role of Technology in Shaping Modern Organisational Dynamics

As organisations increasingly embrace digital transformation, the role of technology in shaping organisational behaviour has become a crucial area of study (Trenerry et al., 2021). Of late there has been multiple folds of digital transformation at workplaces. There are various ways in which emerging technologies such as AI, big data, and automation are influencing decision-making processes, work dynamics, and employee interactions within modern organisations (Rajagopal et al., 2022). AI and automation are redefining decision making, highlighting both the opportunities for reducing human biases and the risks associated with algorithmic biases. Big data in generating behavioural insights enhance organisational performance and strategic decisions. There are also psychological impacts of automation on employee engagement and job satisfaction, focusing on how organisations can manage the evolving nature of work roles through reskilling and upskilling (Morandini et al., 2023). Ethical considerations are a serious concern with this kind of transformation, addressing challenges related to privacy, surveillance, fairness, and inclusivity in digitally transformed workplaces. Leadership strategies for managing these behavioural shifts are also important concerns of the present day, emphasising the critical role of digital leadership in guiding organisations through the complexities of technological change.
