This chapter is the product of a systematic literature review and bibliometric analysis of research focused on the concept of intersectionality. The research question was: Where and by whom has intersectionality been raised as a perspective in Latin America in the last decade. We will elucidate three key moments of the present review; first, it will be relevant to mention the differences between “approach” and “perspective” and thus circumscribe the gaze in relation to a fact or object to be studied. In a second moment, the initial tracing of the category located in certain disciplinary changes. In a third moment, the position before the intersectionality is presented, the relevance in the conceptual clarity and its influence in what is thought of the object of investigation and the observed reality, it is so as it will be taken for the analysis the place of “perspective” where it will be necessary to carry out the search of the beginnings, authors and authors who postulate and offer enlightening and powerful definitions, in addition to recognizing the contributions from the global south.
