Saudi women entrepreneurs (SWEs) face unique challenges shaped by socio-cultural norms, limited business networking, and under-representation in the EE. Despite these obstacles, many discover personal passions, pursue business opportunities, and receive strong family support, especially from male relatives. However, a lack of intersectional research, examining how multiple social factors such as gender, age, class, education and socio-cultural norms intersect, often results in an incomplete understanding of their experiences.
Even with Vision 2030’s push for inclusivity, women continue to struggle with legal procedures, securing funding, especially in tech, and balancing business responsibilities with family obligations. Limited access to business networks and mentorship adds to their “double disadvantage.”
