Abstract
In an era of constant evolution of the workplace, strong Problem‑Solving and Decision‑Making skills are crucial for leaders, employees, and learners. In this chapter, I explored the significant impact of innovative approaches transforming the 21st century workplace. Through real‑world examples, teaching experiences and individual insights, I examined the landscape of organizational challenges, and the strategies used to navigate them. A key focus of the chapter is the application of mental models and model thinking in Decision‑Making processes. I discussed how adopting these cognitive tools enhances Problem‑Solving capabilities and promotes a systematic approach to addressing challenges. By understanding and employing these cognitive tools, individuals and organizations can create environments that foster collaboration and strategic thinking. These tools are crucial in enhancing situational awareness and making informed Decision‑Making choices among students and educators. Furthermore, they promote the cultivation of an organizational culture, which support change and proactive Problem‑Solving. Utilizing comprehensive case studies and reflective questions, I provided practical insights into the significance of critical thinking, creativity, and resilience both in academic settings and professional contexts. Through an emphasis on experiential learning and professional development, I offered actionable recommendations for achieving organizational success. Intended for professionals in leadership, business, academia, and organizational training, I combined theory with practice to equip readers to thrive in a competitive and ever‑evolving environment.
