The theoretical framework that frames the chapter is the input-processes-outcomes model. The provisions to achieve inclusion, which include financial resources, policies, staffing, training, curriculum, infrastructure and interdisciplinary support, are the inputs that lead to inclusion in education. These factors will be discussed from a global perspective. Practices that prevent discrimination and harassment, equity in admissions and hiring, and support for underrepresented groups will be addressed. The outcomes resulting from the inputs and processes, which include stakeholder satisfaction and academic achievement, will be explored. This chapter will examine the understanding of inclusion across different geo-politico-socio-cultural contexts for a more nuanced view of inclusion.
