This chapter seeks to explore the role Caribbean academic libraries can play in climate action. Libraries are key drivers of sustainable development. Small Island Developing States (SIDS) such as those of the Caribbean are increasingly vulnerable to the impact of climate change, largely as a result of their geographic location and fiscal insecurities. Academic libraries contribute to learning and have a critical role in climate literacy, which allows world citizens to make informed decisions about the quality of their lives. The chapter will explore the connection between academic libraries and sustainability, the current level of awareness of climate literacy in Caribbean academic libraries, and how collaborative teaching and advocacy programmes can be implemented to afford greater public awareness, education, training, and public participation.
