The text introduces the growing social pressure to address sustainability and climate change in all business activities, including the sports industry, especially after the 2015 Paris Agreement. Additionally, the recent outbreak of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has highlighted the importance of energy supplies, which has led to the promotion of concrete measures to improve energy efficiency in sports organizations. The book A Global Perspective of Sustainability in Sports Organizations analyzes the current state of sustainability in the sports sector across four continents, covering topics such as the implementation of sustainable practices in leading countries, reducing the carbon footprint, and the impact of technologies on sports, among others. It is structured into four sections that align with different continents such as Europe, Africa and the Middle East, North-South America, and Asia-Pacific. In the various sections, different cases are explored that show how countries from these continents are addressing sustainability in sports. Ultimately, the book presents a global approach to sustainability in the field of sports, integrating aspects such as the carbon footprint, energy, and sustainable technologies.
