Chapter 6: Blockchain – Opportunities and Challenges for Accounting and Auditing Professionals in Palestine

This study aimed to identify the opportunities and challenges faced by accounting and auditing professionals in Palestine when implementing blockchain technology. The study used the descriptive analytical approach, focusing on the accounting and auditing professionals in Palestine, a questionnaire was given to accounting and auditing firms in Palestine, the study sample includes (82) accounting and auditing firms, selected from a total population of (105) firms, and the results showed that the opportunities and challenges facing accounting and auditing professionals in Palestine when implementing blockchain technology were rated as high, also, blockchain technology contributes to reducing the costs associated with accounting and auditing processes for accounting and auditing professionals in Palestine. Blockchain technology has positively impacted the efficiency and transparency of accounting and auditing processes. Also, there are significant challenges facing accounting and auditing professionals in Palestine when implementing blockchain technology. The study recommends that accounting and auditing firms in Palestine consider implementing blockchain technology due to its benefits in reducing traditional risks faced by accountants and auditors.
