Abstract
The labor market is reshaping due to varied factors, such as the expansion of digital technology, the development of new work plans, and the impact. Vocational education quality needs to be improved to meet market needs. Saudi Arabian Drilling Academy (SADA) has implemented an initiative to enhance the learning quality provided to its trainees. SADA has concentrated on incorporating digital transformation to enhance the education quality provided. For this study, one instructor and one group of trainees were included in the research to assess the impact of digital transformation on trainees’ performance. The study sample endured taking the course using a Conventional Learning Environment (CLE). After that, the same group was taught by the same instructor using Smart Learning Environment (SLE). Post-test results for the two courses were collected and analyzed along with the instructor’s perception. The comparison of both results shows a noticeable improvement (%24) in trainees’ performance using SLE compared to CLE. The instructor provided a positive perception related to the enhancement of trainees’ interest in using SLE. Since the sample size is limited, SADA aims to study the digital transformation impact more in-depth before proceeding toward incorporating complete digital transformation in vocational education.
