The counseling profession is becoming globalized more than ever, leading to more counselors seeking to pursue graduate studies in counseling in the United States. This leads to more counselors holding a doctorate wishing to secure faculty positions in the US as counselor educators. This chapter will highlight an international counselor educator’s experiences and mentoring needs in a US counselor education faculty position. It will present some cultural challenges faced at different stages of the counselor-educator process, including initial adjustment to a faculty position and the mentoring needs in teaching, scholarly, and service work.
