This chapter investigates the positive and negative effects of TikTok on high school students in Riyadh, as well as how demographic factors influence these effects. The study, informed by Cultivation Theory, attempts to understand the more profound ways in which TikTok affects students. Fifty students from various parts of Riyadh were polled for the study using a descriptive approach. According to the findings, 60% of students use TikTok for more than two hours every day. While some enjoy entertainment like challenges and pranks, the majority watch sports and cultural shows. While the negative impacts include less focus and weakened social ties, the favorable effects include enhanced technical proficiency and increased community involvement. The report suggests including ethical subjects into the curriculum, hosting workshops for both educators and learners, and promoting candid communication between the two groups.
