Sustainable development and the environment have become the talk of the whole world in the past few decades. The countries of the world have taken into account climate change and the negative effects it causes, raising the approaching risk of the expected global environmental disasters that restrict development efforts at all levels. Thus, they have worked hard to make international pledges and agreements that describe targets, organize efforts, and define commitments related to integrating the environmental dimension alongside the economic and social dimension of development under the framework of the “Sustainable Development Goals.” Moreover, the world community took into account reducing greenhouse gas emissions and maintaining the planet’s temperature at a level below 1.5 °C under the United Nations Framework for Climate Change, the Paris Agreement, and other international frameworks and agreements concerning combating desertification, biological diversity, etc.
