Abstract
This chapter examines the impact of Autism in the workplace, focusing on workplace culture, staff relationships, leadership, and administration. It highlights the prevalence of undiagnosed Autism and the consequences of unawareness among professionals. The lack of awareness leads to stereotyping and negative behaviors, particularly from supervisors, affecting both employees with Autism and organizational dynamics. The chapter also addresses the personal and professional challenges faced by individuals with Autism in environments lacking awareness, training, and understanding. It calls for basic training programs for all employees to bridge the knowledge gap and foster a more inclusive and supportive workplace culture, ultimately enhancing the contributions and well-being of employees with Autism.
