This chapter explores how strategic agility influences the international performance and crisis survival of international new ventures (INVs), particularly during times of crisis. The findings demonstrate that strategic agility positively impacts both international performance and the perceived ability to survive crises, underscoring its role as a critical capability for navigating uncertainty and adapting to rapidly changing market conditions. A further contribution of the study is the identification of a positive relationship between crisis survival and international performance, suggesting that organizational resilience enhances long-term global competitiveness. The study also examines how top management team (TMT) characteristics – diversity, cohesion and effectiveness – moderate these relationships. The results indicate that TMT diversity enhances the benefits of strategic agility, whereas TMT effectiveness diminishes the relationship between agility and performance outcomes. These insights contribute to the literature on international entrepreneurship by offering a nuanced understanding of the dynamic capabilities and leadership attributes that support INV success in volatile global environments.
