Micro-crowdsourcing, an attentive and nimble model of crowdsourcing, is transforming inclusive leadership and organizational change by facilitating real-time, small-scale decision-making participation. In contrast to mass-based crowdsourcing, which pools general input, micro-crowdsourcing involves targeted employee groups, marginalized voices, and specialized expertise to advance leadership development and create a more participatory corporate culture. Micro-crowdsourcing democratizes leadership choice, closes hierarchical divides, and guarantees a diverse set of perspectives in defining organizational strategies.

Through the use of digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and human resources analytics, organizations can incorporate micro-crowdsourcing systematically into leadership pipelines, employee feedback processes, and strategic planning. This chapter delves into how micro-crowdsourcing can detect emerging leaders, develop more effective leadership competencies, and foster ongoing organizational improvement. It also discusses potential challenges such as bias, data security, and ethical issues and suggests solutions to improve transparency and participation.

Based on distributed leadership theory and participatory governance frameworks, this research provides a conceptual model for the implementation of micro-crowdsourcing in human resource management (HRM). With case studies and practical applications, it amplifies the role of micro-crowdsourcing in developing adaptive, diverse, and future-proof leadership. Lastly, this chapter outlines research gaps and practical recommendations for infusing this new approach in HRM and leadership development practices.
