Abstract
This chapter delves into the critical role of supervision in the training of psychotherapists, with a focus on Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). It highlights the significance of clinical supervision in enhancing therapists’ skills, emphasizing the use of innovative research methodologies, including machine learning, for in-depth analysis of supervision sessions. The chapter presents a qualitative, exploratory-descriptive study that analyzes a spanish-speaking TFP supervision session via video recording. Employing a microanalysis approach, the study examines verbal and paraverbal interventions of both supervisor and supervisee. The authors discuss the use of advanced tools like Facial Emotion Recognition to refine supervision analysis and propose an integrated model for attitude analysis in therapy and supervision sessions. The chapter aims to improve understanding of supervision dynamics and contribute to the development of more effective training methods for psychotherapists.
