Purpose: Introduce yourself and the purpose of the CSC as an opportunity to get to know each other by sharing family stories and hopes and dreams for the future. Stress that sharing stories is a way to learn how schools and communities work in different cultures and how this will help you to be a better professional when working with students and families from many different backgrounds. Mention it is ok to ask questions, or to repeat, to slow down, or ask for an explanation. Be sure to ask how much time to set aside to meet and when to end the CSC. Be ready to share your family story and journey and possibly a picture of your family.
