This chapter addresses the urgent need for nature-centred education in a world increasingly disconnected from the natural environment. As mental health concerns and social media dependency rise among adolescents, children are distanced from nature, impacting their physical and emotional wellbeing and diminishing their respect for the environment. Drawing on Maria Montessori’s cosmic education theory, Indigenous knowledge, and holistic approaches, the chapter explores how education systems could nurture empathy, peace, and environmental stewardship through classroom practices and a nature-based curriculum. The Montessori approach, along with critical peace education principles, encourages students to become transformative agents who understand the interconnectedness of life and develop respect for all living beings. By fostering students’ wellbeing, environmental awareness, and sense of justice, a nature-centred Montessori school model offers hope for a more compassionate and sustainable future. This chapter advocates for integrating cosmic education, nature and critical peace education to meet the complex challenges of the 21st century.
