It was the mid-1990s in Hong Kong, pretransition in 1997, post-travel from the United States to the Chinese University in Hong Kong. That’s when I had the good fortune to meet Ed Fink for the first time, hosting his visit to our university. I was struck by his enthusiasm and energy, eager to learn more and experience as much as he could during his stay with us in Hong Kong. I appreciated this as the beginning of a long collegial friendship, percolating over the years through our professional events. I was proud to share the stage with Ed on the occasion of our entry into the International Communication Association Fellows community. His curiosity and interest in the world are inspiring.
