In this chapter, theoretical frameworks related to the concept of wellness and nature-based tourism are discussed along with the nature of its framework, its components and prospects for sustainable development. The purpose of study is to explore the current state of wellness practices and natural settings in tourism, new trends, problems and perspectives. The research uses qualitative exploratory analysis and secondary sources to explore wellness integration with nature-based tourism. Data were collected from academic sources, peer-reviewed articles and industry reports. Thematic analysis revealed patterns and theoretical links aligning with the study’s goals, ensuring credibility and applicability. Aspects like community empowerment of the local people and rural development are possibilities on the flip side there are draw backs like environmental degradation and over commercialization. The findings and recommendations of this chapter can therefore be useful for policymakers, tourism developers and local communities in their attempt to develop sustainable wellness tourism models. It provides a chance to fulfil the commercial goals while being true to a company’s values and respecting environment that creates the potential for improving benefits for all the involved parties. By integrating wellness and nature-based tourism within a structured framework, this chapter contributes to the discourse on sustainable and transformative tourism practices. It serves as a foundational resource for researchers, practitioners and policymakers aiming to enhance the global tourism landscape. This chapter strengthens the literature in the area of sustainable and transformative tourism by presenting both the relationship between wellness and nature-based tourism and a clear framework.
