In this chapter, the authors give a brief overview of the global climate crisis. First, brief literature reviews on global climate crisis in science and social studies education are offered. Next, a discussion of civic disciplinary literacy as advocated for in the C3 Framework is provided. Then, the authors give an interdisciplinary lesson sequence to explore climate change solutions at the local/individual, national/regional, and international levels. The lesson sequence uses an IDM Blueprint to explore with high school students how to deliberate using knowledge and skills from both science and social studies to recommend informed action to help address the climate crisis.
