My new book continues the journey of my 2014-published book. The growth factors described in Chapter 1 seem to vindicate my notion of the ‘Post-ideal’ (Bunnell, 2014) landscape having appeared. However, they also seemed to be manifestations of a much bigger shift. This I will now describe, as the movement towards a ‘New Era’.
Alongside huge shifts in the character, nature and purpose of International School of Europe (ISE) in the diverse form of ‘GEMIS’ has become a major shift in the discourse and narrative used both internally, and by outsiders witnessing the changing landscape. The questioning of ‘legitimacy’, and ‘standards’ that had come to a head in Indonesia in April 2014 was a damning new narrative.
