This chapter describes the grounded theory methodology and how it was used to study the Regenerative Process. Additionally, this chapter explains how the Regenerative Process was used as a generative tool to understand and respond to the disruptive social phenomenon of the Trifecta+, and to understand educational leaders’ experiences through the Trifecta+.

After utilizing the Regenerative Process with several educational groups (PK-12 educational groups – leaders, teachers, higher education leaders, higher education department faculty, and parent and community groups), and receiving positive feedback, referrals to share with other groups, and requests to utilize the process with their communities, I began to see the process as having greater impact. The search for an understanding of current educational leaders' experiences using the Regenerative Process led me to the classic grounded theory approach for this study.
