Chapter 6: ERP as Business Process Automation Tool

In order to sustain and grow further, an organisation must deal with all sales holders such as employees, stakeholders and environment. The organisation must design information system that would collect information as well as provide required information to all these stakeholders. Accordingly, business process must be organised in such a way that these process use designed information system to operate efficiently and enhance the overall performance of the organisation. The business processes are organised in such a way that their stall holders are prioritised and cause gently information system designed around these stakeholders. This prioritisation ensures the focus of these organisations in relation to its corporate objectives. Thus achieving corporate objectives is dependent on the efficient use of information system designed around stakeholders. Since resources are limited, there is focus on certain stakeholders, i.e. customers, suppliers, employees and information system around these stakeholders are designed with higher priorities. Enterprise application helps in assisting the designing and automating these prioritised information system.
