In this chapter, we discuss the effect of algorithms, blockchain and cryptocurrency (ABC) on the individual, with a focus on the idea of multiple roles, multiple income sources (in multiple coins) and implications for loyalty and retirement and so on. Self-employment on a massive scale is hypothesised and how that may manifest itself across our economies and society as a whole.

In Chapter 1, we postulated that the ABC economy would continue the current breakdown of work into its component parts, and then those into their fundamentals and so on. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and machine learning approaches will be key to this, as with each process successfully completed by numerous different actors, the data generated will allow refinement and increased specialisation.
