When we think of conflict in Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films, our mind probably first goes to the epic physical conflicts between heroes and villains. And while the Marvel films are full of such fights, we often see many nonphysical conflicts, even among the heroes. Heroes in Marvel films often have their own unique perspectives and opinions, which can bring them into conflict with others, even with other heroes they may share many goals with.

A great example of this is found in “Captain America: Civil War” as the Avenger team comes into conflict (and even later physical blows) about the future of the team and how it will function and make decisions. Should the team be led by the agenda of an international organization or should it continue as a team where the members make their own decisions? We see major team leaders Captain America and Iron Man disagree on this, and the team is ultimately torn apart related to this conflict and others.
