This chapter explores contributors to critical consciousness and actions to confront White supremacy. It begins with a short vignette illustrating how everyday choices can drive change by recognizing one's racial identity, critiquing one's actions, and engaging in discussions about race. Reflective practice and critical consciousness, complemented by the concept of transformative consciousness (TC), play a significant role in its development and promotion in interpersonal interactions. TC emphasizes the recognition of Whiteness by White people. Seeing oneself as a racial being brings with it responsibility to act against White supremacy.

Deconstructing Whiteness involves acknowledging and addressing racial inequities. This requires a critical examination of how societal norms and structures have normalized and perpetuated Whiteness, impacting how we perceive ourselves and others within the construct of race.
