7: Working With Teens

Working with young people to discuss leadership trends is an eye-opening experience for anyone involved. Young people are full of energy and ideas, and they often approach challenges in ways that are different from how I would. However, their unique perspectives bring valuable insights that can lead to creative solutions. This chapter will explore the findings of the study and begin to answer the research questions I set out at the beginning of this book. As I mentioned in Chapter 4, the CYPAR approach highlights the need to include marginalized voices, especially youth, in addressing community needs and challenges. This method creates a space where community members can engage in meaningful conversations, build connections and work together to find solutions. Here, I will introduce the key themes that came up through the cohort's work.
