Savings groups in Kenya work on the principle of collectives and joint liability. These groups have played an important role in the financial inclusion of the poor. In case of the savings groups in Kenya, the financial intermediation by the local non-government organizations (NGO) has played an important role in fostering community development and poverty reduction. These groups also play an extremely important role in the women empowerment and knowledge sharing. This study will mainly aim to develop a compelling case on unique phenomenon of financial savings through the savings groups.
