What are the shared values that would support and sustain individual freedoms (including the freedom of thought, the freedom of faith, and the freedom to connect with others as we choose), while harnessing empathy as a foundation for embracing diversity – all in the service of sustained individual and community well-being? Respect for the dignity of each human being, the embrace of diversity, emphasis on responsibility, and a strong sense of shared destiny with the wider natural world.

Man can practice and enjoy his freedoms on his own (as an individualist) or with other human beings (cooperatively). Studies of human evolution tend to support a strong leaning toward the latter (Bregman, 2020; Graeber & Wengrow, 2021; Harari, 2014; Kropotkin, 1902).
