In this activity, participants post to a collective blog, which allows them to share responsibility for content. This encourages a variety of perspectives, creates opportunities for interaction, and allows participants to not feel singularly responsible for blog content. Through collaborative blogging on experiential learning, participants can share a variety of perspectives and engage in discussions with each other and blog readers about leadership learning.

Learning Goals: Participants will have opportunities to:

Materials: access to a smartphone, tablet, or computer as well as Internet, use of a site such as Wordpress.com to create a blog.

Process:

Blogs are most effective when posts are consistent, meaning they may not be an effective reflection tool for temporal projects. One way to ensure regular contributions by a group of participants is to have people select a day of the week when they will post content; consider developing a calendar for the group to see who is posting on which days. Finally, blogs are most effective when they become dialogic. The facilitator should plan to comment on posts and encourage others to read and comment on the blog.
