Imagine that your organization had a project to accomplish that would be impossible if you were restricted to using your own resources. Certainly, that is the case for several of the organizations we have written about in this book, like Red Hat, Airbus, and Procter & Gamble. Here is another: Golf Digest magazine. The impossible project that Golf Digest must accomplish every 2 years is to rate the top 350 golf courses in the United States. Imagine the time and costs that would be involved in sending more than 10 Golf Digest staff members to play each of those courses. Would not happen. So how do they do it? Using a braid.
