This chapter provides more detailed information beyond the portrait of leaders. The chapter includes school contexts and students served by Latina/ o leaders based on results from the National Latina/ o Leadership Project (NLLP). We examine and discuss the types of schools in which Latina/ o leaders reported being part of their experiences. Information related to school context and the students they serve include grade level, location of school (rural, urban), and student/teacher demographics. This chapter also looks at the performance of the students who attend the schools in which the Latina/ o school leaders work. Additionally, student issues and challenges that Latina/ o school leaders faced are included. Latina/ o leaders’ school contexts revealed challenging demographic areas confronting deep societal problems where their social justice experiences were perceived as being impactful.
