Like most tertiary institutions, Griffith University offers the subject Project Management, which attracts students from a variety of backgrounds ranging from experienced project managers looking for tertiary qualifications to students who move from undergraduate work straight to a postgraduate degree and who have limited or no work experience, as well as international postgraduate students. In a review of the course, which includes updating material from the latest academic research as well as recent practitioner experience, a need to include cultural awareness and diversity was identified. In order to utilize the multicultural diversity and experience in the learning process, a priori learning and situated cognition are being investigated.
