I met Rachel at the swimming baths years ago, and over the years we have become good friends. She wanted to tell her story as she became ill with kidney disease.

Her story was told in the comfort of her own home when she was unwell and off work.

Experienced as a floor salesperson, and having travelled nationally, Rachel had landed herself a coveted job at a prestigious company. She had brought up her son, and he had recently completed his university course and had joined the Army as part of the communications team. It was Rachel’s time to pursue her career further. She had always worked in sales and was good at her job. Childcare had always restricted her ability to work on a national platform. Rachel started applying for national-based sales jobs, and after a couple of rejections, her email arrived. She had been successful in gaining a senior sales role within a respected flooring company.
