Over the past two decades, climate change has emerged as a central focus of global discussions due to its unprecedented scope and severity, affecting not only the environment but also the social, economic, and political structures of societies worldwide. Climate change is not simply an environmental issue but a multifaceted crisis that cuts across a range of domains, impacting every aspect of life on Earth. Its effects are far-reaching, causing significant changes in weather patterns, rising sea levels, and increasing the frequency and intensity of extreme weather events such as floods, droughts, and heatwaves. These environmental changes have profound social and economic consequences, particularly for the most vulnerable communities – those that are least equipped to adapt and respond to the threats posed by climate change (IPCC, 2021).
