Whiteshield originally developed the Global Labour Resilience Index (GLRI) to analyse the capability of 136 economies around the world to absorb external shocks and protect their internal labour markets against external inputs.

Bespoke Whiteshield tools such as the Labour Navigator are used alongside almost 100 indicators to assess each country’s performance. Now, through the application of artificial intelligence (AI), the Index can process far greater levels of data input to deliver deeper insights into global labour market resilience.

Resilience means being able to handle disruptions and bounce back from them. In the case of labour markets, resilience also means creating steady demand for different kinds of jobs and offering good-quality work. A resilient labour market is inclusive, sustainable and can adapt to shocks.
