This chapter focuses on the importance of infrastructure maintenance in emerging economies. The significance of emerging economies cannot be overly emphasised, especially the impact they have on the global economic scene. Gourinchas (2024) elaborated on this significance alluding to the fact that growth in India and China will account for almost half of the global growth and account for almost 50% of the global economy’s total consumption. World Economics (2024) note that, of the total GDP of the global economy; more than 40% is accounted to emerging economies. This book focused on emerging economies because of the impact these countries are forecast to have in shaping the global economy.
