Indecisiveness is a tendency to have difficulty making decisions or may refer to postponing decision-making across situations and domains (Crites, 1969; Germeijs & Verschueren, 2011), often resulting in inaction. This chapter discusses indecisiveness, a tendency for some individuals to have problems making decisions or postponing decision-making, in various contexts using real-life examples. Following this, a discussion is presented on studies of individuals delaying or having difficulty making decisions and how indecisiveness impacts individuals financially, academically, health-wise and in social relationships. It also explores whether indecisiveness results in cancelling decisions that have already been made. This chapter concludes with strategies to overcome indecisiveness and future directions for consideration.
