What do we teach in student affairs programs, and why do we teach specific topics? What is our responsibility as seasoned professionals to guide our staff members? How do we ensure students retain learning? Can strong supervision, educational opportunities, and national or local professional development help us retain strong employees in the field? These are key questions in considering the responsibility of graduate program faculty to the future of their students and the profession as a whole (Calhoun et al., 2020). Do we teach as we learned? Do we engage current professionals on their most significant challenges? The answers to these questions may indicate the effectiveness of our programs.
