This chapter identifies, develops, and organizes a conceptual framework for the psychological, behavioral, and intellectual aspects of individual and group competence. In this application, competence is conceived as an individual system of understanding, integration, and holistic awareness of one’s own competence. This conception frames the configuration of the interconnections and interdependences of the discipline within the learning system to deliver the competences as conceived by the profession and academic field, orders the proximity of the interconnections between competences and subcompetences, and sequences the interdependences within each competence into ordered and coherent subcompetences.
