Institutional impacts on ownership decisions by emerging and advanced market MNCs

Dr Rushiun Liou is currently an Assistant Professor of Management at the University of Tampa. She received her PhD Degree in Management from the University of Arkansas and an MBA Degree from the University of Hawaii-Manoa with an emphasis in International Business. Dr Liou’s research focuses on emerging-market firms’ cross-border mergers and acquisitions as well as cross-cultural management. Her recent publication outlets include Journal of World Business, Thunderbird International Business Review and Cross Cultural & Strategic Management Journal. She has been presenting research at the Academy of Management and the Academy of International Business. Armed with several years of industrial experience working in retailing and consulting, she is passionate about applying management theories to understand real-world business scenarios and continues researching and sharing her research findings with her students. Dr Liou has several years of experience in teaching management courses, including leadership, strategy, and global business environment courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Dr Kevin Lee is currently an Assistant Professor of Finance at the University of Tampa. He received his PhD Degree in Finance from the University of Arkansas and an MBA Degree from the University of Hawaii-Manoa with an emphasis in International Business. Dr Lee’s research focuses on cross-border mergers and acquisitions as well as banking and microfinance. His recent publication outlets include Corporate Governance: An International Review, Journal of Economics and Finance, Banking and Finance Review, and Cross Cultural & Strategic Management Journal. He has presented research at the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, Academy of International Business, as well as Financial Management, Midwest Finance, Southwest Finance, and Southern Finance Association Conferences. Dr Lee has several years of experience in teaching international business and finance courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level at the University of Arkansas, California State University Fresno, Pepperdine University, and Texas A&M University – Central Texas.

Dr Scott Miller is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Tampa. He received his PhD Degree in Finance from the University of Arkansas and an MBA Degree from the Drake University. Dr Miller’s work has been published in various outlets including the Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Financial Stability and Journal of Economics and Finance. He has presented his research at the San Francisco Federal Reserve, as well as the Financial Management, Midwest, Southern and Southwest Finance Association Conferences. Dr Miller has taught a variety of courses at the University of Tampa, the University of Arkansas, the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) and Pepperdine University. These courses include International Finance, Investments, Financial Derivatives, Money and Banking and Financial Markets and Institutions.
