When is an error not an error? A certain logistical error was made by this reporter, who, in the knowledge that AT&S have a facility at Engerwitzdorf close to Linz, duly caught a flight to Linz airport—only to discover that the next day's itinerary would begin with a 7.30 a.m. pick‐up for the 180 km journey to Hinterberg, where the actual PCB manufacturing plant is located! However, the touristic advantages made it unquestionably worth while. The day was hot and sunny, the sky cloudless. The journey from Linz, Austria's second largest city, along the Enns valley, passed through gently rolling landscape giving way to Alpine scenery at its most lush and verdant after the less settled weather of the early summer. Tree‐clad hills dotted with trim chalets, the soft brown coloured Alpine cattle grazing lazily, cool lakes and rivers with that greenness imparted by limestone, and in the villages en route every balcony a profusion of brightly coloured blooms.
