Viasystems Asia Pacific Co Ltd. has announced the grand opening of its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong.

The company is continuing its expansion into Asia. In August, 1999,Viasystems acquired Kalex Printed Circuit Board Ltd. from the Hong Kong based Termbray Industries International (Holdings) Ltd. (SEHK Code: 0093) in order to strengthen its presence in the region.

The two facilities of Kalex provide manufacturing capacity to better serve our customers' requirements, strengthening our position in the PCB market."

With the addition of Kalex's production capacity, Viasystems now produces over 400,000 square feet of printed circuit boards per week, for a total of more than 65 million square feet per year.

Steven Tang, President of Viasystems Asia Pacific added, "We extended our reach into Asia by adding the Nantong, China Value Added Assemblies and Services operation and, more recently, the acquisition of Kalex. The expansion of the Asia-Pacific market is our key objective for the new millennium."
