IPC designers council celebrates 1,000th certification

Keyword IPC, Certification

The IPC Designers Council announced the certification of its 1,000th designer through the IPC PWB Designer Certification program.

Introduced in 1995, the program was created to enhance the professional image of printed wiring board designers through education, training and certification.

These 1,000 Certified Interconnect Designers (CIDs) have a leg up on the competition, says executive director of the IPC Designers Council Gary Ferrari.

"Designers who are CIDs set themselves apart from the rest", says Ferrari. "With more than 1,000 CIDs, we can say that designers, companies, and their customers see the value in the education of designers".

The two-hour certification exam is held in conjunction with a two-day certification prepara-tion workshop. Seventeen public preparation workshop and examinations are scheduled for 2001.
