Sigtronics launch Quickboard ™ printer

Keywords Sigtronics, Prototype, Printed circuit boards, Printer

Sigtronics, a Scottish hi-tech start-up, launched their Quickboard™printer at the European PCB Convention in Maastricht (Plate 1). The Quickboard™,which can reportedly produce a prototype printed circuit board in hours, not days, is roughly the same size as a photocopier and will fit easily into an office environment. It allows designers to create prototype PCBs in-house without the need to subcontract.

The Quickboard™ apparently takes only ten steps to produce a prototype PCB, compared to the 30 or so required by the standard PCB process. The process is more appropriate for one-off designs and is said to be the future of PCB prototyping.
