Orbotech Ltd has announced the introduction of its newest system model for laser direct imaging, the DP-100Plus™. The DP-100Plus combines the advanced capabilities of the field-proven DP-100 (tm) with the enhanced functionality manufacturers have requested to help them meet ever-higher production standards.
The DP-100Plus’ enhanced functionality includes Hole-Free Inner Layer registration, Automatic Panel Serialization and Local Scaling. Hole-Free Inner Layer registration is an innovative, patented feature that provides excellent side-to-side registration without drilling. Automatic Panel Serialization enables manufacturers to define and print unique, dynamically changed serial numbers on each panel or PCB. Local Scaling, the first of it’s kind for a Laser Direct Imaging system, provides a solution to help manufacturers meet the very demanding registration issues of today’s thinner and less stable materials. Local Scaling gives manufacturers the best possible alignment for each specified area of each panel to help increase production yields for such demanding technologies as sequential build-up and microvia PCB’s.
