Tanaka Kikinzoku Kogyo K.K. (TKK) and Enthone Inc. have reached an agreement for strengthening their precious metal plating process business throughout Asia. The agreement includes strengthening their customer driven partnerships in Korea, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, as well as other countries throughout the region. As part of the agreement, Enthone's joint venture, Electroplating Engineers of Japan Ltd (EEJA) will aggressively sell, distribute and market its precious metal surface treatment chemicals throughout Asia.
EEJA's precious metal surface treatment chemicals have been distributed by TKK in Japan and by Enthone in other Asian countries. However, since many EEJA customers have been shifting their production lines to other Asian countries,EEJA made the decision to manufacture and increase sales support throughout the region in order to achieve a higher level of customer satisfaction.
EEJA was established in 1965 as a joint venture between TKK and Enthone. The company markets precious metal plating processes for both electronic goods and semiconductors throughout Asia. EEJA is widely recognised as one of a select, few suppliers that offer both precious metal surface treatment chemicals as well as equipment. EEJA's precious metal surface treatment chemicals are widely specified and used in mobile phones and other electronics applications. In addition, Enthone provides precious metal plating processes to companies in Europe and the US, as well as Asia.
In conjunction with this new structure, TKK and Enthone will form a stronger relationship to manufacture and market its products in Asia. This move will enhance customer support by providing products more quickly and at a lower cost. Since TKK already has an established business in Taiwan and Korea through the sales of its precious metal products, EEJA will effectively utilise the current sales channels of TKK.
Based on the agreement, TKK will increase the number of sales engineers specially trained in surface treatment processes at its existing sales offices in Seoul, Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Manila, Singapore and Penang. It will– MORE – also strengthen the process of distributing precious metals' salts as well as recycling precious metals waste through sales activities.
Enthone will support EEJA and TKK by utilising the company's existing production facilities in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Tianjin and Singapore. Enthone will aggressively continue to conduct research and development for its new products at its laboratories in Europe and the US. EEJA will integrate and promote Enthone's advanced base and precious metals as part of its total product offering to the region.
This coming February, EEJA is planning to establish a laboratory in Silicon Valley, California, USA, in order to better understand and meet the future needs of surface treatment, marketing research, and R&D. At the lab, EEJA will conduct extensive research activities that will not only involve corporations, but also universities. The research of bio, nano technology, new energy and space development will be conducted at the lab.
